Product: HP Notebook - 17-bs011dx

Hello. My husband passed July 2021 and our son is wanting to use his laptop and he can not remember his password bc the last time he logged on it when he was 8. There is not a guest profile on it and tried what I thought were the passwords. Is there a way to reset the computer or get a temporary password if his death certificate is sent in? I also wasn't sure what board this question fell under.
