I cleared the tpm as advised and now I don't have display or USB ports. Nothing is working. The PC will power on and will beep 5 times then that's it.

Hi there @Sabri_6619, and welcome to HP Support Community!

Thank you for reaching out with your concern. I'm glad to assist you today.

The issue you're experiencing black screen, non-functional USB ports, and 5 beeps on startup after clearing the TPM (Trusted Platform Module) suggests a possible BIOS or hardware initialization problem. Here's how you can proceed:

Understand the Beep Code

  • Five beeps on HP desktops typically indicate a BIOS recovery condition or motherboard failure.
  • Clearing the TPM can sometimes corrupt BIOS settings or trigger a security lock, especially on systems with HP Sure Start or secure boot enabled.

Perform a Power Reset

This helps clear residual power and may reset the embedded controller.

Steps:

  1. Turn off the computer and unplug the power cord.
  2. Press and hold the power button for 15 seconds.
  3. Reconnect the power cord and try turning on the PC.

Attempt BIOS Recovery

If the BIOS is corrupted, HP desktops may attempt automatic recovery. If that fails, you can try a manual recovery.

Manual BIOS Recovery Steps:

  1. Turn off the computer.
  2. Press and hold the Windows key + B, then press and hold the power button for 2–3 seconds.
  3. Release the power button but continue holding Windows + B until you hear beeps or see the BIOS recovery screen.

Reset the CMOS

If BIOS recovery doesn’t work, resetting the CMOS may help.

Steps:

  • Power off the PC and unplug it.
  • Open the case and locate the CMOS battery (usually a coin-cell battery).
  • Remove the battery for 5 minutes, then reinsert it.
  • Plug in and power on the PC.

Check for HP Sure Start

If your PC has HP Sure Start, it may automatically recover the BIOS. Look for a message during boot indicating Sure Start is active.

If none of the above steps resolve the issue, it may be a deeper hardware fault. In that case, please visit the nearest HP authorized service center, the service team will check and assist you.
