So i recently bought this off my state at the state surplus warehouse, all it needed was ram. Upon powering it up with one known good stick of 4 gigs of ram. When turned on no output happens. i am connected over displayport. a minute or two after turning it on the fans ramp up to full speed. no caps lock or numlock lights come on. not even when pressed on the keyboard. upon trying to make a bios recovery usb the tool doesnt give me the option to create a recovery USB. does anyone know what my issue could be? can anyone tell me how to write a recovery usb for the bios?

Welcome to the forum.

I am not a HP employee.

 

Remove the RAM Start the PC to see if you get a POST error. Reseat the RAM.

 

I can only guess you are using incompatible RAM or you have a motherboard problem.
