Was in the middle of bios update the power turned off now when I turn it on I get 8 long beeps then 2 long an 2 short what are the steps I need to take to fix my bios

Power loss during a BIOS update corrupts the BIOS. Try all recovery steps at this Site but I don't think they will help.

 

You are in a Catch 22 situation. I am guessing you have no video and no USB function which means your PC is "bricked".

 

Your Options if the above recovery steps fail are:

 

1. Contact HP Support. HP may reprogram the BIOS or replace the MB.

2. Have a local PC tech reprogram the BIOS using a Serial BIOS programmer and a recent BIOS executable file. The BIOS file should be available at your specific HP PC's Support site.
