That error typically means the hard disk is failing, but it can also be caused by something interfering with the boot process.

To verify the situation, run the Diagnostics routine, as is indicated.

To run the Diagnostics routine, Start tapping the Esc key BEFORE starting the PC and then press the start button.
Keep tapping the Esc key until a popup menu shows. Then pick Diagnostics from that popup menu, F2.
Report back with the results. Also need the PC model number.

This the error is 3F2, which indicates there are more than one hard disk.  The Diagnostics routine will indicate more than one hard drive (disk), so be sure to read the results properly and completely when replying.

Long DST : PASSED

If you can screen-shot the message please.  As noted earlier, there must be more than one drive, need the information showing both drives.

There is only one hard disk in this PC.

I don't understand why this message is about hard drive 2.

The screenshot posted in the initial post indicates "Hard Disk 2" has the Error 3F2.  That would mean the software notes there must be something present to cause that indication.  If there was only one hard drive, it would note Error 3F0.

Please post the model number of the PC, so I can see what hardware is actually installed.

Thank you for your response.

Model is HP Pavilion 500-517nb.

Here is the spec page for that PC

Disk 2 is the 2TB SATA drive.

I do not understand this "I have built another Hard Disk " - please explain.  If that means that you have a new disk, I can understand why you are seeing the message.  The new disk does not have a Windows installed, which now needs to be done.

The spec page notes that

  • Windows 8.1 (64-bit) came on that PC.  IS that still true or has it been upgrade to Windows 10?

Indeed, I bought a new disk without any installation of Windows.
