Product: compaq presario sr55i8f
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 (32-bit)
I have Compaq Presario SR5518f.
The motherboard is an OEM MSI 7525.
I was doing a bios update and the machine shut down in the middle of it, now the bios is corrupted and the machine will not boot.
It looks like I'm going to have to reflash the bios chip but am having trouble identifying which one it is, and more importantly which specific chip it is, i.e., model number.
There are three SOIC 8pin chips on the motherboard. One has yellow paint and is marked "BOS" (which might be bios, but am not sure)
I know this system is old and long out of warranty, but I would like to get it going again.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
