HP Pavilion Desktop - 570-p038no

Hi,

I have a Pavilion Desktop - 570-p038no and I recently bought an SSD to replace the faulty HDD it had.

The SSD I bought is a 1TB SATA 2,5" Samsung 870 QVO which the computer store told me would be a compatible replacement for the old HDD

So now whenever I power the PC, if I don't press on any buttons then it shows me a blank screen with the HP logo.

Once I start pressing ESC or any of the F-buttons repeatedly as soon as I power it on, it shows me this screen (image below) with some system info on the top left corner, and below in the middle it would tell me "Press ESC key for startup menu". Now of course I try to press on ESC and every other button possible a million times in all sorts of lengths, it would not register. I have tried every single way of pressing things, like before I power on the PC, while I'm powering it on, press & hold, and pressing repeatedly, but nothing works, I always end up on the "Press ESC key for startup menu" screen without being able to press anything because the key presses don't register.

I did remove/detach the SSD multiple times, making sure I'm installing it correctly and fitting it tightly to its port and screwing it correctly at the right positions. The SSD does fit in perfectly and the cables fit perfectly into the SSD's ports, so I don't think that it has to do with me installing the SSD incorrectly.

I try to press ESC and every other key possible, but it doesn't register the key presses and it simply doesn't work despite trying every single method.I try to press ESC and every other key possible, but it doesn't register the key presses and it simply doesn't work despite trying every single method.

My goal is to be able to boot Windows installation from USB, as in be able to access F9 (Boot options) to be able to boot from USB and finally be able to start installing Windows on this new SSD, since, naturally, there's no OS on this new SSD. But not a single button works, not ESC, not F9, or any of the F-buttons. It always leads me back to the screen you see on the image.

What went wrong, and please, how can I fix this?

Please try to be helpful and specific to my case, limiting general answers and giving me clear & specific examples of things I can do, because I'm not so experienced with hardware stuff nor am I a computer technician.

I've already provided as much information on my PC and SSD and even linked them to their respective specification sheets & product info - which I hope is going to help with getting detailed answers. If you need any more specific information please do mention that and I'll try to find and respond with them.

@404-nut-found --  It always leads me back to the screen you see on the image.

One configuration-option within BIOS SETUP gives you the choice of displaying the "splash-screen", which is a HP "logo", or alternately to display those "technical" details about the hardware components of your computer.  So, there is nothing unusual about setting that text.

Have you tried repeatedly tapping the ESC key on your keyboard BEFORE powering-on your computer?

One of those key-presses may trigger the response to that "press ESC" message.

Have you tried a different keyboard?

OK.

If you disconnect both cables from the SSD, and then power-on your computer, does it enter BIOS SETUP, so that you can change the option back to "display that HP-provided splash-screen" ?
