Is HP Sure Start the whole truth?

any new computer

Hi everyone

I downloaded and read the hp doc, where it is disclosed a very nice improvement in the security of the hp computers' booting process. Essentially is the proof of concept described in the paper of Bill Arbaugh when he exposed the AEGIS system. I believe that the info is truth, nothing but the truth, but is it the whole truth?

Surfing the Net I stumbled upon a very interesting page : , that talks about an official rootkit installed also in hp machines IN THE ASSEMBLY LINE,, when I found this page suddenly realized the reason why I never could finished a complete BIOS upgrade in the past (only 6 BIOS 64KB banks from 😎 in my HP desktop computer, so this page appeared as very relevant for me.

Now I think that the situation in HP machines is similar to other brand names where two different softwares are taking care of the same problem. It is like two cookers taking control of the frying pan to cook a meal. Maybe the two collaborate between them to build like a four arms cooker, but also they can counteract each other nullifying or revoking one the acts of the other

How is the situation now in the HP computers regarding the working of Absolute Persistence Rootkit and HP Sure Start?
