The term Airplane Mode is Microsoft's way of telling you the WiFi is disabled -- and that is usually seen by the LED on the key on the keyboard that enables the WiFi showing as red instead of white.
You normally change that by simply pressing that key to enable WiFi again, and the LED should turn white.
