HP Pavilion All-in-One - 24-r014
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My Computer had been working fine.   I do leave it on contiuously but antivirus programs run at night and any updates. as well automatically.   I used in the morning and when I tried to use later in the day all the programs were running slower to the point even closing them took a long time   I eventually shut it down.  When I tried to restart I could hear it "loading" but the screen never came up.  I can't remember exactly which key it was but a friend told me to reboot and press the F8 ( or was it  f10 multiple times during the reboot.   It worked and the computer is working fine.  He said there should be a diagnostic f key or some combination of keys.   Is there something already on this computer or do I need to take is someplace for diagnostic work?

hi

It may be nothing serious, but don't leave the computer on all the time.
You don't need to have an antivirus running all the time, at least if you're talking about virus scanning, do that once a week
If you have a good antivirus it should detect viruses, before you have to scan manually or periodically
Updates, no need to constantly search for them, if it's Microsoft updates, the computer's time of use, that's enough, it will automatically detect if an update is to be done
If it's hp drivers, with hp support assistant, do this once per me, and again..
That said, if I haven't forgotten anything
you must have an F2 function, sometimes you have to use the escape key, then then f2
if not, you can do it under windows, if the computer, works, or with a usb key, see this
