Hp Pavilion Deskstop 510-p114

Everything was working fine but after a while it showed signs of slowing down. This happened to me twice but the first time I was able to return to the previous version. But this time, it was the exact same but it wouldn't go back the previous version because of some issue. I went online but after one of the tips told me to unplug every and basicly hard reset it, it wouldn't let me fix or do anything. It just keep on saying boot device missing. Please install a ... And I couldn't find any alternate around because the key f11 would just go to the error page. And I don't think it is because we download anything that would cause this. We only use youtube, iOS games, surfing the web, do work.. then it fail. The only thing that I downloaded recently was fortnite. Please help me, we don't want to buy a new computer/pc.

Greetings,

Welcome to the forum.

I am not a HP employee.

Your PC's HDD may have failed when you get a "no boot device" error at POST. Your PC is about two years old. You have more time left with the current device.

Try running HP UEFI hardware diagnostics (Link to instructions). Or tap "F2" at boot to run HP diagnostics.

Let the forum know how the diagnostic tests go.

Hi Isaac131,

It appears you will have to replace the HDD.

I suggest a SATA SSD. You will get a performance boost by using a SATA SSD.

Folks like Samsung drives. Adata makes a good SATA SSD. Crucial is also very good.

Look, I am assuming your HDD has failed based on the information you are providing.

Something else could have failed. It could be corrupted operating system files.

Very difficult to diagnose what is wrong in a forum.

Regards

Yes thanks... I'm pretty sure that's the issue but how do you know if it is not working
