Victus by HP 16.1 inch Gaming Laptop PC 16-e0000 (2V8Z8AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

When I start my laptop the blank screen bright up and after a minute or few it shows the logo and starts while sometime I have to keep powering on and off and also wait after powering up, once it took more than 5 minutes to start.

But sometime it just starts normally as if the problem never existed
While I restart sometimes it starts normally and sometimes it does the same as I mentioned but while putting my laptop on hibernate it doesn't happen like that.
The problem is I can't start it normally and also updating is a problem as it doesn't restart normally.
I have already reinstalled my OS and ran all the diagnostic tools but none of the tool show any kind of problem.
I tried to get it checked by local technicians but that time it started normally.
Can anyone help me out with this.

Hi @BandanK,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It seems like you're experiencing an intermittent issue with your Victus By HP gaming laptop, where it takes an extended amount of time to start up, and sometimes requires multiple power cycles to successfully boot. Since you've already reinstalled the operating system and ran diagnostic tools without identifying any issues, troubleshooting such problems can be a bit tricky. However, there are a few things you can try.

  • Check for System Updates: Ensure that your operating system and all drivers are up-to-date. Sometimes, outdated drivers or software can cause boot issues. Visit the HP website to download the latest drivers for your laptop.
  • BIOS/UEFI Update: Check if there is a BIOS/UEFI update available for your laptop on the HP support website. Updating the BIOS can sometimes resolve compatibility issues and improve system stability.
  • Power Settings: Check your power settings to make sure they are configured appropriately. Sometimes, power-saving features can cause delays during startup. Adjust your power plan settings to see if it makes a difference.
  • Hardware Check: Run a more thorough hardware diagnostic. You can use tools like Memtest86 for RAM testing and CrystalDiskInfo for checking the health of your hard drive. Even though you've run diagnostic tools, it's worth doing a more comprehensive check.
  • Event Viewer: Check the Windows Event Viewer for any error messages or warnings around the time when you experience the delayed startup. This might provide clues about what is causing the issue.
  • Safe Mode: Try booting your laptop in Safe Mode to see if the issue persists. If the laptop starts up quickly in Safe Mode, it could indicate that a third-party application or driver is causing the problem.
  • Disable Fast Startup: In Windows, disable the "Fast Startup" feature. Sometimes, this feature can cause compatibility issues during boot.
  • Check for Background Processes: Monitor your system for resource-intensive processes that might be running in the background. Task Manager can help you identify applications or services that are using a lot of resources.
  • System File Checker (SFC): Run the System File Checker tool to scan and repair corrupted system files. Open a Command Prompt as an administrator and type sfc /scannow and press Enter.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
