Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Dear HP,

Once my laptop starts and shows desktop, it then suddenly blinking on and off repeatedly. I cannot access anything, expect I could accessed Task Manager (Ctrl+Alt+Del) and also I could access, for example, Google Chrome. So the screen is still blinking on and off, while Task Manager and Google Chrome page still there and could be used.

However, I could not access anything, eg. Control Panel etc. I think the hardware is okay, but the Windows 10 is the problem. I already access F1, F2, F8, F10 etc, from BIOS Set Up Options, System Configuration and others, but still the blinking on and off repeatedly every 1 second is not gone.

How to solve this problem?

Thank you

Regards,

Joni

@sijoni012 Welcome to HP Community!

I understand that the laptop turns on and off repeatedly.

Please connect the external display and check for the issue.

Please perform the below steps.

Hard Reset:

1) Shutdown the computer.

2) Unplug all the Adapter and peripherals connected.

3) Remove the Battery. ( not for Built-in Battery computer )

4) Press and hold down the power button for 15 to 20 seconds.

5) Plug-in the Adapter and put the Battery back into the computer if it's a (removable battery)

6) Try to turn on the computer and check, If the issue persists continue next step

Set BIOS default and restart:

  1. Restart your notebook.
  2. During startup, press F10 repeatedly until the BIOS menu is displayed.
  3. Once the BIOS menu is displayed, press F9 to restore factory defaults.
  4. Select Yes to confirm.
  5. Press F10 to save changes and exit.
  6. Select Yes to confirm.
  7. The computer restarts using the default settings.

Please try to boot in safe mode and check.
