Pavilion Desktop s5268hk

I lost the BIOS password in my Pavilion Desktop s5268hk. I've tried to reset the BIOS with the jumper E18 on the motherboard but the password is still there. How to reset the password? Thanks.

Hi:

I assume you followed the instructions under the jumper setting section?

https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-pavilion-slimline-s5200-desktop-pc-series/3999463/model/4010...

The only suggestion I can offer would be to try this...steps 3 and 4 don't make sense to me.

I would, after moving the jumper to pins 1-2, turn on the PC and see if the password is cleared.

Then shut down the PC and move the jumper back to pins 2-3 (default).

@Paul_Tikkanen

Thanks for your information and advice.

I'd swapped the jumper E18. As in your provided hyperlink, the BIOS password clearing jumper should be E21.

Following the steps in the link, I removed the password. A million thanks for helping!
