HP All-in-One 22-c0xx; Product number 3UQ74AA#ABA
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I purchased this unit December 2019.   This week it began intermittently, upon hitting the space bar key to wake the unit up sounds a loud two tone 3 - 2 Alarm.   The only way to stop it is to press and hold the power button.

Can anybody tell me if this is a hardware issue and do I need to swap out for a replacement unit?

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

  • Did this happen after a recent window or software update?
  • Have you made any hardware/software changes?
  • Did you make any changes on the settings of your PC prior to the issue?
  • When was the last time it worked fine?

While you respond to that, let's try these steps:

Hard Reset: Follow steps from the link: https://hp.care/2GnkMa8. (refer to Hard reset a desktop or All-in-One PC)

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

Hi.  Thanks for your reply.

No recent updates prior to starting

No Hardware or Software changes

No settings changes

It was working fine until a week ago Thursday.  It only happens in the evening hours and only when you “wake” it from sleep mode.   I’ve been in contact with HP Technical Support.  They went deep into the advanced power settings and made a few changes.   The issue went away for 2 days, but occurred again last night at 10:00 p.m.

The only way to stop the alarm is to (1) Press and hold the power key for shut down or (2) unplug unit.  Problem still comes back.

Any other ideas?

Thank you for posting back.

I have a few troubleshooting steps we could try to fix the issue:

Firstly, perform Windows Update and HP Support Assistant: (do not skip any troubleshooting steps if you feel steps are repeating)

To check for updates now, select the Start button, and then go to Settings  > Update & security  > Windows Update, and select Check for updates.

Install updates from HP Support Assistant: Go to Download HP Support Assistant to install the tool.

  1. To open HP Support Assistant, double-click the HP Support Assistant icon https://support.hp.com/doc-images/932/c05040382.jpg.
  2. Click My devices in the top menu, and then click Updates in the My PC or My notebook pane.
  3. Click Check for updates and messages to scan for new updates.
  4. Review the list of updates. Updates with a yellow information icon are recommended. Updates with a blue information icon are optional.
  5. Click the update name for a description, version number, and file size.
  6. Select the box next to any updates you want to install, and then click Download and install.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
