HP Envy Model #700-327c
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My desktop unit has been working great for years! For some unexplained reason it's doesn't seem to be booting up and the display is black. When I turn the computer on, the led power lights for the desktop and display do come on indicating power.  The front of the desktop has a red light across the middle that come on but it normally fluctuates indicating activity but it just stays on. I can hear the fan but no other activity. Since I have no screen, I have to hold the power switch down until it turns off. The last time I had the desktop working, I ran a diagnostic test and it came back all good but the reason I ran the test was because I was having an issue of the system booting up which it eventually did. However, the system isn't booting up at this time.   Any help is appreciated!   Thanks. -Ed

Hi
First:- Turn off the computer, press and hold the PWR button for 4 seconds.

Then - Leave only keyboard and mouse connected, disconnect all externally connected
devices such as Docking Station, USB storage devices, displays, and printers.
Unplug the AC adapter from the computer.

Next - Press and Hold the Power button for 15 seconds to Hard Reset.
Rinse and Repeat

AND/OR - Power on your PC, press Esc (repeatedly), then F2 at the prompt.
Choose System Tests (Fast Test does a 4 minute hardware check).

HOW DO I USE DIAGNOSTICS?

HP PC Hardware Diagnostics Windows is a Windows-based utility that allows you to run diagnostic tests to determine if the computer hardware is functioning properly. The tool runs within the Windows operating system in order to diagnose hardware failures. HP PC Hardware Diagnostics Windows comes pre-installed on new HP computers, but if not on yours, download here:

I suspect the CPU.

Thank you Blue! I followed your suggestions, but no luck in resolving the issue. I took her to Best Buy and they advised itsi a motherboard issue, most likely  graphics card. I opted for a new computer!
