Hi, HP monitor, monitor won't turn on, black blank screen, only shows DGI VGA input nosignal then turns off, power button turns orange instead of blue, monitor led turns orange too, instead of yellow, what might be problem? RAM socket? Fan spins, other sounds too, but monitor won't load.

Can you borrow a different monitor, and connect it, instead of your monitor, to your computer?

If that monitor shows similar symptoms, then the problem is within your computer, not in either monitor?

Can you connect your monitor to a different desktop/laptop, to see if works correctly?

If your monitor shows similar symptoms, then the problem is within your monitor.

Is this the LED on your monitor, or the LED on your computer?

> monitor led turns orange too, instead of yellow

That is a very subtle change of colour.  Are you sure?

What is the model-number of your computer?

1. What is the FULL model-number of your computer?

> power button turns orange instead of blue

2. Is this the LED on your monitor, or the LED on your computer?

Immediately after you power-on the monitor, does its LED show "green" or "blue"?

After a while, what colour is that LED?

3. Before you power-on the PC case, does its LED show "green" or "yellow" or nothing?

After you power-on the monitor, does its LED show "green" or "blue"?

After a while, what colour is the LED?

4. Can you borrow a different monitor, and connect it, instead of your monitor, to your computer?

5. Can you connect your monitor to a different desktop/laptop, to see if works correctly?

No answer to #1.  Sigh.

2: Correct reaction by the monitor when there is no video-output from the computer, either into its VGA or its DVI sockets.  Check that the appropriate cable is well-connected at both ends.

3: No video-output from the computer implies dead motherboard, or dead graphics adapter, or loose cables, as in #2, above.

5: You really have NO friend with a laptop with a VGA-output port that is compatible with the VGA-input port on your monitor ???
