Monitor won’t come on

Hp 2311x
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)
**bleep** my computer off yesterday. When I restarted, the monitor would not come on. The power light was lit up but nothing on the screen. Held power button for 10 seconds, unplugged from tower and power source, turned back on, restarted computer and still won’t turn on. I’m wondering if it’s even a problem with the monitor or something with the hardware because I don’t really hear the internal fan running. It’s a business computer so it’s already been a day without it. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. The soonest I can get someone to look at it is Monday and I can’t wait that long! I need it for every transaction I perform in a day. Please help!! Thank you!

Welcome to HP Forums. This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips.


I understand that the monitor display is not coming on and you have already attempted the Reset by holding down the Power Button.


I suggest you unplug the Monitor form your computer and connect it to the wall outlet along and let me know if you see any Message like No Signal or No Video.


If you see the Message then the issue is with your computer and not with the Monitor.


If there is Message on the screen, please contact our Phone Support for Service Options


Step 1. Open link:
Step 2. Enter Product number or select to auto detect 
Step 3. Scroll down to "Still need help? Complete the form to select your contact options"
Step 4. Scroll down and click: HP contact options - click on Get phone number and phone number appear.
