My HP Compaq dc5100 display black screen when trying to boot windows from d harddisk

Hi ,

There can be many Point of Failures here .

1. Monitor or the cable : Try connecting this monitor to a different PC/Laptop to ensure Cable/Monitor is working fine

2. CHeck for Lights on Dekstops . If no light are on , try a different Socket , differnt Cable .

Are there any lights blinking/ Is there any beeps heard from the system . If yes -->Its a Hardware issue

3. Are you able to get HP Logo --> if yes , press f2 and run diagnostics on HDD . If this screen is visible , its not a issue with Monitor /Cable

4. If HDD /Memroy Test passes , it may be a software issue . if HDD/ Memory test fails , it is a hardware issue

5. If HDD/Memory test passes , try system restore . Still no go ,Contact tech support .

Although I am an HP employee, I am speaking for myself and not for HP.
