HP Laptop 15-bw0xx

My laptop will not proceed upon powering on and booting up, past the HP logo screen which just loops, over and over. If it does manage to get past the logo screen then I am met with a screen of multi colored bar codes just scrolling down. That's it!

I have asked a question within this community before and I have tried all the suggestions, inc. diagnostic checks, system checks, virus checks, all have passed. I cannot get into the system recovery as I do not know what the admin password is. I do not recall ever needing to use it. 

In any case the only other thing that I have not been able to try is removing the battery. This is due to one of the sliders to access the battery is locked and will not slide. 

Please advise.
