Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My laptop makes long beeping sound when I turn it on. I have to turn it on and off again and again until it starts normally. When the password bar opens it's filled with number 6 on it's own like it has been pressed for long time. Need help ASAP!

@Junghoe Note that specific patterns of long and short blinks along with long and short beeps (where applicable) identify errors during the startup process.
Newer computers have two-part blink sequences with different color lights to indicate specific errors and you may click here and troubleshoot on your own or reply back with the details, and I'll help you out.

No it doesn't have any blinking error. It's just make long very annoying beeping sound like that of pressing a car horn for too long and freezes with a blank screen and blinking underscore ( _ ). And not to mention that numerous number 6 appears on the password bar like it has been pressed and hold for long time.

@Junghoe There are only two reasons that may happen, either if a key is physically stuck during startup, or if there's a connection issue with the memory module, I suggest you check the keys, or try with an alternate keyboard, if that doesn't work, please reseat the ram and check if that help.

 

If nothing helps, I suggest you talk to HP support and discuss your options, follow the below steps to get started:

 

1) Click on this link - http://www.hp.com/contacthp/

2) Click on Sign-in or select the product using the below step:

3) Enter the serial of your device.

4) Select the country from the drop-down.

5) Click on "Show Options".

Fill the web-form, to populate a case number and phone number for yourself!
