Hi, so this happened yesterday. Basically i jusy woke up that day and decided to use our family pc. The monitor is hp, and when i plugged it, the screen says "Display entering sleep mode" then the blue led light turns from blue to orange. What i did was click the power button thats on the monitor and the display entering sleep mode appeared again, i fixed it by like smashing the keyboard, mind u when i was pressing keys on my keyboard when i turned it on it didnt work but when i smashed the keyboard it worked. So i used the pc to play roblox then all of a sudden something blue appeared i forgot what it said but basically it was like counting from 1-100% so i waited for it to reach 100% which took like 2 minutes then it rebooted like u know the manufacturers name with the thing below is "click f2 or delete to enter bios setting" after that my monitor showed the display entering display mode again and the blue led light to orange, so i pressed keys like f2,f5, escp, shift, delete and everything else. I also tried smashing the keyboard again but it did not work like last time. I dont know what to do

@Mathena, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

Basic Cable Check

Make sure the video cable (HDMI, VGA, or DVI) is securely connected to both the monitor and the PC.

If you're using a dedicated graphics card, try moving the cable to the motherboard video port (if available).

Try a different cable if you have one.

Does the PC Actually Turn On?

Are the fans spinning when you turn it on?

Do you see keyboard lights briefly flash?

Does it make any beep sound?

No beep and no lights? = Could be power supply or motherboard.

Beeps? = Could be hardware error.

If the PC seems to turn on but the monitor still says "Entering Sleep Mode", then it's not a monitor issue — it's a signal or boot failure.

Try Entering BIOS – Only Press ONE Key

Don’t press multiple keys.

Press only Esc, repeatedly, as soon as the PC starts.

If the screen goes black or says "sleep mode" again, it means your PC is crashing before BIOS loads or it’s not detecting the monitor properly.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
