My motherboard is bricked - what is an appropriate replacement?

hp envy h8-1534

After following the troubleshooting steps for my problem (my system hangs and the HP logo on startup and hangs on the boot recovery screen (F11)), I believe my motherboard is bricked.  It is an M3970AM-HP (Angelica2) and I can't find a replacement anywhere.  What is a good substitute?

From eBay: HP H8-1200 Intel Desktop Motherboard AM3b Angelica 2 Rev:1.2 M3970B 685006-001

there is one, shipping from China -- if the 45th USA President still allows such an import. :Crying:

On eBay, there is another one, for $27, but it is described as "does not work; for parts only".  Sigh.
