Hello.
I am facing an issue when trying to install windows to a new Ssd, since the M. 2 drive that came with my pc just died.
After plugging in my windows media tool, booting up from it and clicking install this window appears (my desktop is specifically the 875-0081np)
After a bit of searching I found this has to do with VMD and can be solves by loading rst drivers. I have already tried downloading the Intel storage drivers from the product page, however when i try to load them none will show as compatible with this machine, and trying to force load them results in nothing. (as seen they only appear when the hide incompatible drivers box is unchecked)
I have also tried using the hp recovery tool but when i input my product ID it tells me that it´s invalid
Any help would be appreciated, thanks

Hi @odavidsons,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It seems like you're encountering issues with installing Windows on a new SSD for your OMEN by HP Obelisk Desktop PC, particularly related to loading Intel RST drivers. Here are some steps you can try to resolve this issue.
- Ensure Correct Driver Version: Make sure you have the correct version of the Intel RST drivers for your motherboard and chipset. Sometimes, downloading directly from Intel's website can provide the latest compatible drivers.
- Prepare Drivers on USB: Instead of trying to load drivers during the Windows installation from the SSD, prepare the Intel RST drivers on a USB drive beforehand. During the Windows installation process, when you get to the screen where it asks you to load drivers, insert the USB drive and browse to the folder containing the drivers.
- BIOS Settings: Enter your BIOS settings and check if there are any settings related to SATA operation mode (AHCI, RAID, etc.). Ensure it's set to the mode you intend to use with your SSD (usually AHCI for a single SSD).
- UEFI Boot Mode: Ensure your BIOS is set to boot in UEFI mode rather than Legacy mode, as UEFI is more compatible with modern SSDs and Windows installations.
- HP Recovery Tool: If the HP Recovery Tool is not recognizing your product ID, double-check that you're entering it correctly.
- Secure Boot: Temporarily disable Secure Boot in BIOS if you continue to encounter issues. Secure Boot sometimes interferes with loading third-party drivers during installation.
- Check SSD Compatibility: Verify that the new SSD you're trying to install Windows on is compatible with your motherboard and that it's properly connected.
- Fresh Windows Media Creation: If possible, create a fresh Windows installation media using the official Microsoft Media Creation Tool, as sometimes corrupted installation media can cause issues.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
