Bought this gaming pc for my son for Xmas. Opened it yesterday. Plugged it in. Won’t boot up. Just 3 long beeps and 3 short beeps. Have checked graphics card is installed ok etc. tried a hard reboot as per the support.

The beeping indicates either a hardware failure or a memory failure. First verify the memory is insert correctly, by removing and reinserting each card separately. Since the graphics card has been checked, you could remove it and reseat it also, just to verify it is seated properly.
Since it is new, either talk to the place of purchase or HP support for warranty replacement. Keep in mind that if it is was purchased at a retail store or outlet, they most likely will replace it directly without sending it in.

Thanks for the reply. I managed to get hold of someone from technical support and after talking me through some checks they say it’s defective. So now waiting for a return then hopefully a replacement soon after. Thanks once again.
