So I bought a new power supply and put it in I have the adapter to plug it in so all the cables are plugged in to power it and when I turn it on a red light blinks what do I do?

Others may have different suggestions, but since no one has responded, let me take a shot at this ...

 

It's not unusual for HP to use custom PSUs.  So, it's not always a simple matter of replacing the existing PSU with one the same size and power ratings that mounts into the case.  That is not always going to work.

 

My suggestion is that you use this link to see if there is an HP part number for your PSU.  If there is, then do an online search using that number to see if you can buy a replacement.  That SHOULD work, but make sure you buy it from some place where you can return it for a full refund -- just in case it does not.
