Did you ever get this fixed? Mine is currently doing the exact same thing 😞

My computer shut down on me this morning. No regular shutdown; just went off as if my power was out. Now, I cannot power it on. My power supply, when plugged into an outlet, shows green. But, when I try to plug into the computer, the green light disappears and the computer does not turn on. Any suggestions?

@Louillustrator
Thank you for posting on HP Support Community.

  • Have you made any hardware/software changes?
  • Have you tried any troubleshooting steps?
  • What is the operating system?
  • Did this happen after a recent window or software update?

While you respond to that, let's try these steps:
Let's perform a Hard reset on the notebook: A power reset (or hard restart) clears all information from the computer's memory without erasing any personal data.

Next Step: BIOS Defaults - (After hard reset follow the below steps while starting the computer)
1) Shutdown the computer.
2) Turn the computer back on again and repeatedly tap on the ESC until a Startup menu appears.
3) Press F10 once for BIOS.
4) Press F9 for BIOS defaults.
5) Press F10 to save and exit. if this fails. I would request you to contact our Support as this could be hardware related and our Support Engineers should be able to check the available service options for your laptop.
