No signal on screen (HP Slimline Desktop 290-a0004na)

Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)


I am not getting any signal to the monitor on boot. It is connected via HDMI. There is nothing wrong with the cable or the monitor. I have also tried via VGA. And I have also tried booting with all peripherals disconnected. The machine is on.


Please let me know what HP troubleshooting steps I can take for this hardware. The machine is about 1 month old and it hasn't had any hardware or software changes. Thanks.

I would contact HP Support (Link) for warranty service.


You have checked the data cable and have stated the monitor works.


I would think you have a PC hardware problem.
