I have a very strange problem with my (admittedly older) workstation.

I was trying out some changes in the bios when it began displaying a very strange symptom.   Prior to changing the bios, I had the normal startup screen, beginning with the HP logo and then the POST messages and then the boot splash for Windows.

Now, the screen is blank for the boot sequence, until, that is, it reaches windows.  So it black screens up to the Windows splash and then is fine.

The problem with this is that if I can't see the screen, I can't enter the bios to make any other changes nor can enter the boot manager to boot from external media.

The system uses an Nvidia Quadro K2000, and I suspect that the video card is simply not being initiated during the boot sequence until Windows loads.

I suppose I need to just reset the bios to default.  If there were a way to modify the bios from within software, that would be great, but I don't think there is.

Greetings,

Welcome to the forum.

I am not a HP employee.

You would generally have to reset CMOS jumper pins or pull the CR2032 motherboard battery, let the PC sit for about 15 minutes to reset CMOS.

This should clear any BIOS tweaks you have made to cause the current POST behavior.

Regards
