My OMEN 30L Desktop GT13 has been shutting down unexpectedly. Normally it is in the middle of the night but this time it shut down in the middle of me working on things. I was not doing anything that would have overheated it.

Hi @Rayhne
Could you clarify something?
Do you have to start the PC using the power button after the PC shuts down or does the PC restart by itself?
And, do you get any Windows errors when the PC starts up? Like a repair option or a "windows did not shut down correctly" message.
Regards

Hi @Rayhne
Thanks for the info.
Do you have to disconnect/reconnect AC power to do a cold start after the PC shuts down? A yes usually indicates an intermittent short which activates power supply protection circuits.
It sounds like a power delivery problem which is hardware related.
It is not possible to pinpoint a hardware problem in a Forum. I can give possible causes:
- A flaky power button sending a shutdown signal to the MB and PSU.
- The PSU has a problem.
- The MB has a problem.
- Some other component or peripheral connected to the MB/PC.
You would have to systematically disconnect components, one at a time, to find the bad component. EDIT: You may also have to swap in different, known good, components as you go.
You might need factory service or a local PC Tech to isolate the cause.
