OMEN by HP 40L Gaming Desktop PC GT21-0000a (3G5Y9AV)
This PC crashes often during game play. it seems to pass all the diagnostics test. But crashes when playing games.
I am not sure if it due to overheating or power supply issues - I do get a Kernel error 41 code if that is any help.
It is still under warranty (just) so I will contact HP soon. Has anybody experienced similar issues, or do youohave any advice on what to try please.
All OS and Graphics drivers are all up to date
Windows 11 Nvidia RTX 3070
Thank you
Regards

Hi @kreid4,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I'm sorry to hear that you are experiencing crashes during gameplay on your OMEN by HP 40L Gaming Desktop PC. There could be a number of reasons why this is happening, but here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue.
- Check your PC's temperature: Overheating is a common cause of crashes during gameplay. Use a hardware monitoring tool like HWMonitor to check the temperature of your CPU and GPU while playing games. If the temperatures are higher than normal, you may need to improve your PC's cooling.
- Update your drivers: Make sure that your graphics card drivers and other important drivers are up to date. You can do this by going to the manufacturer's website and downloading the latest drivers.
- Disable overclocking: If you have overclocked your CPU or GPU, it may be causing instability. Try disabling overclocking to see if this resolves the issue.
- Check for malware: Malware or viruses can cause crashes and other issues on your PC. Run a full system scan using your preferred antivirus software to check for any malware.
- Check your hardware: It's possible that your RAM or hard drive is failing, which can cause crashes during gameplay. Use a tool like Memtest86+ to check your RAM, and run a hard drive diagnostic tool to check your hard drive for errors.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
