OMEN by HP 25L Gaming Desktop PC GT15-0000a (4Q9S4AV)

This morning I shut down my computer using Windows shutdown. When I came back later in the day I the computer will not start. No sound, no lights, no fans. The computer has run perfectly since I purchased it. I checked the power outlet and the power cord and both are in working order. Any ideas on what to do?

Hi @WalterGarison,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP Omen 25L Gaming Desktop won't start at all, it suggests a power issue. Here are some steps to troubleshoot the problem.

Check the Power Supply:

  • Ensure that the power supply switch (if it has one) on the back of the computer is turned on.
  • Verify that the power cable is securely connected to both the power supply and the wall outlet.
  • If possible, try a different power cable or outlet to rule out the cable or outlet as the issue.

Perform a Power Reset:

  • Unplug the power cable from the computer and the wall outlet.
  • Press and hold the power button on the computer for about 15 seconds to discharge any residual power.
  • Reconnect the power cable and try turning on the computer again.

Check for Loose Connections:

  • Open the case and ensure all internal cables are properly connected. This includes the motherboard, power supply, and any peripherals.
  • Make sure the RAM sticks and GPU are properly seated in their slots.

Test the Power Supply:

  • If you have a spare power supply or access to one, you can try connecting it to see if the computer powers on. This can help determine if the power supply is the issue.

Check for Indicator Lights:

  • Some motherboards have indicator lights that can provide clues about the problem. Check for any lights on the motherboard and refer to the motherboard manual to interpret them.

Inspect the Motherboard:

  • Look for any visible signs of damage or burnt components on the motherboard.

Clear the CMOS:

  • Resetting the BIOS by clearing the CMOS can sometimes resolve power issues. This typically involves removing the CMOS battery for a few minutes or using a jumper on the motherboard. Refer to your motherboard manual for specific instructions.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
