OMEN by HP 45L Gaming Desktop PC GT22-1000a (6M9S6AV)

I just unboxed my Omen 45L, connected power, monitor, keyboard, and mouse.  Powered up, everything lights up, and I briefly get the Omen logo on the monitor, and then the monitor goes to sleep and the computer fans ramp down.  I've tried switching monitors with the same result.

Hi @ronfoss

Welcome to the HP Forum. Sorry to hear you are having a problem with a new PC.

Are you connecting the monitor video cable into the correct graphics card out port at the back of the PC?

On the basis: the monitors are okay, the monitor data cable is good, and both power cables are good, I would say you have a PC hardware problem. The PC should not go to sleep during the Out Of Box Experience (OOBE).

I would not recommend detailed troubleshooting a brand new PC which requires the extensive removal and reseating of components and possibly replacing parts. Take a look at the internals to spot an obvious problem if you are familiar with this stuff.

You could reseat the RAM. Reseat the graphics card. Check all MB and graphics card connections.

I would return the PC for a refund/exchange. I know this option is a pain so you could also contact HP Support for warranty assistance if you can't spot an easy fix to the problem.

Regards
