PC Pavilion All-in-One Desktop will NOT shut off
08-22-2019 06:23 PM

Tried everything …
- Fresh Start Windows 10
- Re-configured Power Settings & 'what the power buttons do'
- Disabled 'Fast Boot', etc.
- Updated BIOS
Followed just about every boot / shut-down diagnostic on YouTube and Reddit thread ...
PC will shut-down, but will not turn off … you can hear the fan still running and the power light is still on. You need to press and hold the power switch to finally kill the juice.
Also, when I elect hibernate … it goes to sleep but will not wake up … I need to kill the power and restart. So, I disabled hibernate.
Please help.

Greetings,
Welcome to the forum.
I am not a HP employee.
You have a possible problem with:
Power switch,
Power Supply,
Motherboard.
You may need to check all component connections and cable connections to the motherboard.
A faulty peripheral device could cause weird PC behavior.
You have to troubleshoot each part.
Look, I usually check the CR 2032 MB battery with a tester or replace the battery. This is a cheap troubleshooting step.

Hi, @Sig-Pig
The only suggestion I can offer would be to install the latest version of the Intel Management Engine Interface driver on your PC's support page, and restart the PC.
