PC occasionally turns off, then reboots without any notice

Z7C70EA#ABU
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

HI there, can you maybe help?

I bought this PC recently, in December, brand new.

Annoyingly, sometimes it just instantly stops, turns off and then reboots.

There is no notice that anything is going wrong or that it will happen.

It has happened after a lot of useage, it has also happened within 2 minutes after being turned off for a day.

this has happened around 5 or more times.

I cant replicate the issues, its random.

There is no error message after it reboots

I have used diagnostics programme by HP. - HP PC HARDWARE DIAGNOSTICS. Everything was all good.

Any suggestions, or should i retuyrn to the place i bought it from for a refund?

Thanks in advance

Hi

I would say you may have either: a hardware thermal problem or a power supply problem.

Did you run full system tests when using HP UEFI Diagnostics?

You will eventually experience Window's system file corruption from these random system shutdowns. Eventually your system is not going to power on after one of these incidents.

You have two choices:

1. Return to seller if you can.  Most return/refund periods are 20 to 30 days. You appear to be well beyond the exchange/refund period.

2. Contact HP Support for service to determine what is happening.

The product number you have provided is not helping to find your PC. Please see this HP Support site to assist in finding the correct product number.

The correct product number will provide a direct link to your PC and a link to product specific warranty support for your PC.

I think HP will have to take a look at your PC to see what is happening.

Tom

Hi Tom,

Thanks for your reply.

I have just ammended my product number above, but it is: Z7C70EA#ABU- (the Model is: 570-p016na).

I did as you requested and did the Diagnostics from the start up menu accessed upon boot up.

All the SYSTEM tests passed fine. So i wonder what could be the cause.

If this issue is a possible serious one, maybe I should get in touch with Amazon to see where I stand.
