HP EliteDesk 705 G1 Small Form Factor PC

Hello, Recently I bought a WD-Black NVMe m.2 SSD with a x16 PCIe adapter because my computer (HP Elitedesk 705 G1 SFF) does not have a NVMe m.2 SSD slot.

After plugging it in through the adapter, It appeared in my windows and I was able to use the SSD just fine and access the files and write to it and such.

After installing Windows 10 on the SSD, When trying to boot to it, It does not show up in the boot menu or the boot order, Which means I can't boot to it.

I've updated my BIOS to the latest version and yet it still does not show up, any ideas?

Hi @SeifVI

Welcome to the HP Forum.

An M.2 drive installed in a MB which requires a M.2 to PCIe adapter will typically not be detected as a bootable drive unless the BIOS supports this option.

HP would have to add M.2 boot support to the BIOS.

You may be limited to using the drive as a data drive.

Regards
