Hi Dedaw,

Have you tried a BIOS recovery?

This (Link) has instructions. Carefully read al instructions to see all BIOS recovery options available.

Doing a BIOS update is wrought with danger until you have a stable PC.

I have the same problem with a pa 590 I purchased 2 days ago.  Ridiculous if I have to upgrade the power supply or get a fan. Got to be kidding me.

New power supply and fans did not help. Flashing and later upgrading bios no help. PC has been shipped to the HP service center and I am waiting for an answer. I am having a hard time trying to understand why it will not run even with hi volume fans but will with a portable fan blowing in the side. I'm wondering if something on the mother board is getting hot, something that does not get air from the cabinet fan or CPU cooler. Mabey a chip or other component. Hope The service center finds out.

Hi Dedaw,

A failed BIOS update because of system instability will make things worse.

You should have HP Support (Link) or a local PC tech check hardware.

Use your warranty if you have one.

GRDWACZ, It is under warranty. I did not have any trouble with updating the bios (runs ok with outside fan). It looks like a heat problem but not the CPU or power supply. Only other replaceable part is the mother board and memory. Guess I'll wait and see what the tech folks say. Thanks

Hi Dedaw,

I think I suggested you may have a thermal problem.
