Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

It requires 10-30 attempts at pushing the power button before my Pavilion will power up. BIOS is set to restart when power comes on, but requires pressing the power button multiple times before it will come on.

Welcome to HP Forums,

This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips to your technical queries.

I understand that you are facing issue with the power button to turn on your computer

Changing the BIOS settings to have your workaround to turn on the device, was quite a smart move, I must say.

Said that this is most likely a hardware malfunction within the power button and to try resolving the issue by performing a power reset.

Use this link: https://hp.care/2FDuuWg to perform a power reset.

If the issue persists, I would personally suggest you contact our HP phone support for one on one interaction.

If your product is out of warranty, then remember to choose the paid options to get the tech support number.

They might have multiple options to help you on this.

Please use the following link to create yourself a case number, then call and it may help speed up the call process:

Step 1. Open link: https://hp.care/2uJxnug

Step 2. Sign in / sign in as a guest

Step 3. Enter the product number or select to auto detect

Step 4. Scroll down to "Still need help? Complete the form to select your contact options"

Step 5. Scroll down and click: HP contact options - click on Get phone number and phone number appear.

Keep me posted on further assistance. Hope that helps!
