Pavilion desk top
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Pavillion desk top does not start. Lamp on the power cable is green - not plugged in & blinking - plugged in. 15 sec reset with the power cable unplugged didn't help.

Hi @Shishy

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you.

Do you see any light on the tower of the PC or the power button?

Is the display completely blank and dark?

For now, power reset the PC

1) Shutdown the computer.
2) Unplug all the Adapter and peripherals connected.
3) Press and hold down the power button for 15 to 20 seconds.
4) Plug-in the Adapter.
5) Try to turn on the computer.

Let me know how this goes.

So it's a Tower unit? Is the green light situated on the BACK of the power supply?
Does the PSU have a black test button?

So if you plug the power cord into the PSU, then the light goes green, and you press the power button, nothing happens? Is that correct?

Well there's a slim chance the PSU has failed, or more likely, the mainboard has failed. Is the unit still under any kind of warranty?
