Example: Pavilion K2b22EA#ABZ
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Grazie

Just tap the Esc key which will bring up a startup menu. Then tap F9 Boot Options.

Note: on most Windows 8 and 10 machines Secure Boot will have to be disabled & Legacy boot enabled in BIOS to allow booting from a CD/DVD. That will be F10 from the menu after Esc.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

I can not change the boot priority in the bios. I try to select CD / DVD to use a recovery disk then save and go out but the pc keeps on turning on as before. I'm doing this to restore a system image that I saved on the external drive. Thank you

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

  • What is the product number of your device? Use this link to find it: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03754824 (Ensure you do not share any of your personal information such as serial, phone number, email ID, etc...).
  • Are you getting any error message or code?
  • Have you tried booting the computer without a bootable disk?
  • Could please share the screenshot of the screen?
  • What is the Operating system?

Keep me posted for further assistance.
