@Joevetswa91

Please check cable, drive location and re-install properly.

Regards.

Samsung SSD 840 EVO installation as boot drive is not working

Hi krzemien,

I read your link.

That is unbelievable if HP is doing this with BIOS updates. If HP is doing this, why? I don't see what is to be gained by doing this. Maybe you have to purchase a HP 2.5 inch SATA SSD.

The 840 is a SATA device. It should just work like any other SATA device.

Wow!

Regards

I think you missed the point: SSD SATA drives are no longer recognised by BIOS in these PCs after some latest BIOS update. And there's no option to roll back.

OP created two or three different threads about it and in one of them he pasted response from HP:

https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Desktop-Boot-and-Lockup/Stuck-on-POST-after-BIOS-update/m-p/6707763/hi...

It's purely by design (i.e. we do not support such configuration - which is a blatant excuse): it's purposedly done to ensure that users will have no choice / option and ditch their machines without any possibility to upgrade / expand when they slow down later in the future.

Hi krzemien,

I get the point.

If this is the case then it will hurt consumer relations in the long run. Possible legal implications.

Remember what happened to Sony in 2005 when they hid DRM firmware in CDs.

I can't believe HP would do this.

Regards
