I am getting the following  error and my laptop is not booting. Can you help?

My laptop is only a couple of months old.

As the Other Person indicated, your HP Warranty still is valid.


So, click Contact HP, to open a claim against the warranty.

HP will repair/replace the disk-drive, at no cost to you.


Note that any personal files that exist on the disk-drive will not be copied to the new disk-drive.

So, one method to try to "rescue" those files:


  • remove the disk-drive from your computer
  • connect it as a secondary disk-drive in some other computer
  • try to access your personal files, and try to copy them onto that computer's primary disk-drive
  • return the disk-drive to your computer
  • contact HP
