Sss M.2 Boot on Hp 290-p0003nl

Hp 290-p0003nl
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I would like to know if in such computer is possible to boot using a Ssd M.2 module and if that module can be Pci or Nvme type.

Thanks, Andrea Gabbanini

@Gabba43 Welcome to HP Forums Community!

I've verified your device's product specifications and here's what I see:

  • One M.2 socket 1, 2230 type for WLAN

  • One M.2 socket 3, 2280 type for SSD

The above slot is for a standard SSD since HP doesn't recommend hardware changes, as the device is equipped with parts that perform at its optimal performance and also, the upgradeable parts listed above are purely for your ease, though the decision to upgrade will be at your own discretion.

That said, I would personally suggest you check with a local tech to understand what works, be it NVMe or PCI and get one accordingly.

Let me know how that pans out,
