Microsoft Windows 11

Hi Everyone,

A client recently started hearing unusual beeps and music playing from the internal speaker of their HP mini Prodesk 400 G4 DM.

Whenever they power up (cold boot), there is a series of musical notes playing a short song (5-6 tones).  When they power off at night, there is a string of 13 (yes, thirteen) beeps with maybe a second between beeps, always the same tone.  Then, the same boot music (5-6 tones - same as boot tune), then it powers off.

When powering off, while Windows is shutting down, the HD activity light flashes, the power LED is lite, then once the LED go off, THEN the mysterious HP tones and music happens, all this while nothing is lite.

Strange but EVERYTHING seems to be working perfectly.  I updated the BIOS, ran HP diagnostics (ram, SSD), ran SFC, updated windows 11 to 24-H2, rans HP support assistant to make sure we have the latest drivers, ran virus and malware scans, etc.

Everything seems fine and works.

Is this a cause of concern?

Richard

p.s. I recorded the music (tones and beeps) and might be able to copy them from my phone to my PC and upload them here if that can help.

Has anyone hear those strange beeps and tones?

I find it difficult to believe I'm the first one to encounter this.
