Can't get off this screen. Tried "continuously hitting" f2 and then f10 right after turning it on just as I read to do so. And then I get same screen again. Can't believe I payed my hard earned money for something not supposed this dumb. Please advise

Hi

Try all fixes at this site: https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c04126730

You will have to contact HP Support for factory service, if the above recovery steps fail, so HP can:

Reprogram the BIOS chip

Replace this part

Or replace the MB.

Or purchase a used identical MB (you are out of warranty). It may be possible to use any compatible uATX MB with your chassis. Your PC has standard ATX PSU connections and the front panel connectors should also work with a retail MB. You will have to verify this.
