Stuck on HP logo screen

Pavilion laptop
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My laptop was working fine until yesterday. When I went to turn it on the fans were spinning loudly and laptop was hot (while off). Ever since when I turn it on it stays stuck at the hop logo screen indefinitely. I have tried running a system diagnostics test via the f2 key on startup and it gives me a warning under the “Hard Drive/SSD short DST check” label. Unsure of what I can do to fix this aside from the usual BIOS updating. Any help is extremely appreciated as I’m currently sitting exams and my laptop is needed greatly. Thank you !

the hard drive is defective
It can continue to operate for a certain time, but it can definitively break down, if it is not already the case!
If possible, save personal data
Try a full reinstall
Be careful even if it works, it may permanently break down, save the data regularly.
This may allow you to use the computer while you find a hard drive!
