The HP PC locks up while in the idle mode

HP Recommended
HP Compaq SFF 8200 Desktop PC
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello Community;

      SCENARIO:    The following situation just started to happen recently,  intermittanly, which may or may not happen every day that I use my PC for my file updates and surging the internet.

        When I turn on my PC and complete my tasks that i have scheduled,  the PC is in an idle mode with the screen saver is visible on the monitor to be functioning properly.      Today I returned to my PC after about a 3 hour idle time, when I noticed that the Screen Saver ( Ribbons ) had quit moving on the monitor, I assumed that the PC was in the sleep mode,  BUT nothing that I could do on the keyboard would not bring the PC to Life.      The only way that I could do was to SHUT THE PC DOWN WITH THE POWER BUTTON and reboot the PC anew.

       Does anyone in the Community have any idea or have encountered this kind of a situation with a desktop PC before   ?

Thanks for reading

I hope someone has an idea as to what might be occuring with my PC to cause the unit to just lock up.

Thanks,  Beep02
