Product: Touchsmart 520
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I'm having an sporadic issue where my Touchsmart 520 will sometimes turn off the screen and run the cpu fan at 100%. 

 

It will sometimes do this at startup, other times after 10-15 minutes of usage. Any ideas?

 

I have run the HP Hardware Diagnostics Test which it passed. I have tried reinstalling Windows 10 on an SSD drive, put the symptoms persist.

I am not a HP employee.

 

This is a tough one to solve.

 

Running HP diagnostics is good to do but this action may not be able to solve the problem. The hardware is good if diagnostics passed.

 

TouchSmart 520 gives many possible iterations. I can't isolate your specific product number.

 

I would think about when this symptom started and try installing the HP factory image.

 

This action (installing the factory image) requires backing up data before doing this.
