I installed a new video card into my computer. The computer did not have an HDMI connection. NVIDIA told me which cards to buy for my PC. I tried the 710 and 730 cards. When the new card is installed into the PCI slot, and I turn on the PC, it will not boot up into Windows. All I see is a screen that says "HP" and it says to click on esc to run setup. I press the esc button but nothing happens. When I remove the new card from the computer, everything works normal.
Maybe there is a conflict between the video card built into the mainboard and the one I installed. Do I need to make a change inside BIOS before installing the new card to tell the PC to only use the new card? I am using the cards that NVIDIA told me to use for this computer, but both cards have the same issue.

I believe something to do with BIOS and/ore power supply.
1, BIOS: Please update the latest BIOS on the following link (note no BIOS for Windows 10, you have to use BIOS for Windows 7 or 8.
2. PSU: I can't find its specs but I believe it has 300W PSU therefore should be enough for the GTX 730.
Now, you need to update BIOS and try again.
Regards.

hi
sorry but you have to check what motherboard do you have?
from the product page here, no information
https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-pavilion-p7-1200-desktop-pc-series/5187022/model/5192688/pro...
but only one bios update, and with this last one
IPISB-CU Motherboard BIOS Update | 7.16 Rev. A |
In theory only old graphics cards
AMD Radeon HD 6xxx cards, or a Nvidia GT (X) 6xx card
can be used
on condition of having the required power supply for the chosen model
if this same model
QW779AA
Description : HP Pavilion p7-1287c Desktop PC
https://partsurfer.hp.com/partsurfer/?searchtext=QW779AA&searchby=product
Motherboard - Carmel-2, Intel H61, 95W VRM
there maybe a possibility, if it s this one
Solved: IPISB-CU (Carmel2) Is compatible with new GPUs - HP Support Community - 8398849
