Product: HP EliteDesk 800 mini G4 i7-8700T
I have four HP EliteDesk 800 G4 i7-8700T runing Linux Debian 12. When playing 4K video with the "Runtime Power Management" enabled in the UEFI/BIOS (the default setting), I get considable fan noise. When I disable the Runtime Power Management, I do get any fan noise.
The UEFI Runtime Power Managent appears to be tied to Enhanced Intel SeedStep Technology (EIST). My guess is that Debian does not implement this. Do any of the Linux Distros implement EIST?. Should I disable the Runtime Power Management, if I am running Linux? Are there any other UEFI setting that I should change from thier default values, when running Linux?
